I want an appliction for the Palm that will allow me to enter information in a work order and print it via IR.

Ideally, I would be able to customize the look of the work order generated (to make it similar to the current work orders)
I'd only need the IR to print to a LaserJet 4000 or 4050, as that's all I have access to.
If I had a clue how to program, I'd write something myself.

Changed archives to monthly. Checking. Hmm.. Can I sort archives in reverse chronological order?
I've been contacted by the author of AvantBlog, and have been informed that the issues I'm having are not unique and are being worked on. I still suspect that it is a problem with AvantGo, and not AvantBlog. Hopefully either an explanation of the problem can be found, or even better a workaround found.

Damn, lost another AvantBlog post. Cutting and pasting from the Palm's memo pad is looking better and better. I'm seriously irritated by this.

Having worked on an old, crappy computer all night, this is the final test to prove to myself that it's functional. Melissa is watching a labour and delivery show, and it's all blood and guts and gross.

That did it. If only I could figure out how to host the blog on the same server. Maybe I'll try that again some day. IIRC, there was some weirdness with ftp'ing over the DSL connection.
Found the images locally, that should do it.
I think I know what the deal is with AvantBlog. If I sync without posting to AvantBlog (or is it without opening the channel?) I get logged out.

I cancelled my dialup account today, which is where I'm serving the images from for this page. There may be problems. Maybe it's time for an update or a redesign. There are problems, I just checked. I saved the images at work just before cancelling, but I didn't transfer them home. Damn damn damn. There'll be no pictures till Monday or till I look around and see if I've still got them around here. Or maybe I'll redesign, but that's not likely.

Along with my image problems, AvantGo appears to be down. I wonder if they'll ever come back?

Posting from the Palm works using AvantBlog. I screwed up the new account I set up though, I wanted to be able to indicate in the "Posted By" line something like "Posted By Cris, remotely from a Palm." I'm sure there's got to be a way to edit your account info for blogger but I can't find any.

So Slashdot is going to a paid subscription model and a bunch of people are pissed off about it.

1. It is not a paid subscription model.

They are charging for the privelage of seeing their pages without ads.

2. It is not free for them to provide slashdot to the public.

They do have to pay in order to have a domain, a server, an Internet connection. Not to mention power to the server.

3. It is not the place it used to be anyway.

Example: All those assholes with -1 first posts. I don't generally read the comments because it's 90% shit, 8% whining, and 2% useful and possibly relevant information.

All the readers of slashdot complaining about a VOLUNTARY payment to make ADVERTISEMENTS not appear need to pull their heads out of their assholes. It's not like they're asking you to pay to VIEW the site. They are asking you to pay to not see the ads on the site which you will still have full access to. I don't know if this will kill slashdot as many have predicted, but I seriously doubt it. Advertisers pay by clicks on ads. Perhaps if these whiners had taken the time to click an add or two then slashdot could have put off looking for a way to pay for their lunch for a little longer. Basic common sense dictates that to have a service like slashdot or a lemonaid stand on the side of the road you need to make at least a small profit to be able to continue to reasonably provide the service. The morons sucking up bandwidth to post shit like "Everyone but me is gay" or taunting the other readers, or bashing the editors of slashdot just to be in the "In" crowd should be banned by the editors they hate. I wonder how much bandwidth slashdot is paying for just to keep these shitheads happy?
<whining> She never did that for me! </whining> Not that I'm jealous, more like thinking she's crazy.

My dear mother is taking my 16 year old brother and 3 of his friends snowboarding for the weekend in Barrie. Never did stuff like that for me. Not that I was neglected as a child or anything, my parents took me to Disney World 3 times, among other trips. It just that taking 4 16 year olds snowboarding overnight isn't really anything I ever expected her to do. Maybe while she's out of town I should start looking at "Adult Community Living" places. <cough> Retirement homes.
